What precise problems are you having?

I only develop on OS X, but I deploy on Red Hat, FreeBSD, OS X, never heard of such problems.

I'm more of a ROR guy than a pure ruby though.

I'm good using ruby, especially with RPG Maker XP, but I've never used Ruby on Rails.
