Load a picture, and save it

Posted 15 November 2009 - 01:42 AM

Hey,

I am pretty new to VB and we have a project for a class to make some type of Employess Database type of thing, the project is pretty open with very few requirements (like should be able to add/edit/delete employees from db) we could just a text file to store the info, or a microsoft Access DB....

We ARE required to add some type of feature our self... so I was planning to have the ability to add a picture for the employee... I want the user to be able to click and load a picuture, and then save it also so when you look up an employee, a picture shows up...

How do I go about doing it? can I save a picture, or should I be able to copy a picture to some folder and then have the path to it saved ???

any help will be appreciated.... Thanks in advance

hello :)

the easy way is to just copy the file in some folder and then use the path to open the employ pic. You can use a filedialog to open the picture user chose. and the save button will only copy the pic to your directory with e specify name like "employ01" for better search in your program. then when you open the employ info the pic you get is from your folder. the path to the pic you can store in your DB.

good luck dude :)

Move = name source as dest
Copy = filecopy source, dest
delete = kill
create directory = mkdir
delete directory = rmdir

Good Luck
