I like how in those tutorials they always type, delete and fix their typing.....

Anyways besides youtube, I believe there are some video podcasts in regards to C++. Check your local iTunes store for more information.

Gracias

I like http://xoax.net/comp/cpp/index.php
I didn't find this until after I learned the concepts but still watched them and picked up a few tips.

Needs to be said. Information is going to be conveyed in books and written material. If you need to see those same written material on a video, you won't last. There is a prerequisite to programming, and that's you're OK with reading.

Why? Ok, you don't know the answer, but give us details.

1) What experience do you have so far in programming?

2) How do you go about reading books? What do you do? As in what books did you choose, how do you go about reading them and learning from them? Tell me about your learning process.

3) How do you measure benefit? What do you consider to be beneficial?

First, download codeblocks(probably the easiest for newbies to use).
Second, learn to print things(aka good ole' "Hello world");
Third, learn to take user input and what types they are(string, int, char, etc.) and learn to print it back out.
Fourth, learn to use equations to manipulate the input.
Fifth, learn arrays.
Last, learn functions.

I just put it this way to give you somewhere to start. I understand how hard it is to learn a language or learn a new language. Everyone expects you to know what to try to learn and you don't even know what the language is capable of. If you can get through the steps above you should have the basis to know what the language can do and continue your research to learn other things that may be of interest(creating files, bit fiddling, etc.). Just google specific related topics and there should be examples and easy to understand walkthroughs on each subject, although it might take looking through 5 walkthroughs to find a good one.

Learning to program is going to be difficult, no matter which language you choose. The language is just different syntax, & access levels within the OS. The ideas & fundamentals are still the same.

You're going to have to take it one step at a time. It's the only way to really learn. Learn by example, learn by failure, & learn from others. It's a difficult, but fun journey. Enjoy it. :)
