I know very few in the community who work in education, but for those that do, I am looking for a clear, concise listing of disclosures required by FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act).
I have Google searched the snot out of the topic only to find thousands upon thousands of pages spewing forth the political verbiage directly from the government docs.
Does anyone know where I might find this information rewritten in layman's terms?
Many, many thanks in advance!!

Love the Google game.
This looked promising: http://home.cod.edu/.../yourRight.aspx
My magic google incantation is: http://www.google.co...A+right+to+know
If you work with dangerous materials you have to endure a bi-annual "Right to Know" training (at least in Jersey). This is mostly about MSDS information and why playing with corrosive substances and smoking around open gas cans is bad.
It sounds like a similar program and the hits seem promising. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure if this is everything you want to know about FERPA, but this is the information from my university.
