Trying again at gaiagroup inc. site. This time I'm taking what I learned from the old design as well as the newest version of my site. Which means light colors and overexposed looking elements.

I got the idea for this from looking at the pictures from Subliminl.

Anyway, here's what I have so far.

it looks a little big, though i'm sure you'll make it work well with your layout.

I've been using that lately too.. except with bright colours and slightly blured images...

Personally, I'd drop the blending modes on the text. Otherwise, I really like the background and believe it would make an excellent header.
