TV Shows On Blog?

Posted 01 December 2009 - 10:15 AM

Hi there,

There are many many sites online, where they put on TV Shows for people to view (and download).
However, most of these are using Megavideo, and so you are limited to 54 minutes per 54minutes.
I usually download these videos to watch them later.
I was planning to make a blog, and upload these on it, more for personal use, but others can use it too. This way, I can always watch it whenever I want, without time limit.

However, I wanted to know: is this thing illegal to do or is it legal??

Thanks

illegal unless you get your copyright papers filled out. Also you will have streaming issues and probably upload issues with it. If want to keep it fully personal and password protect it then it will be legal as long as the digital copy is from a legal source.
All of this is pending on where you live and where the servers are.

It's pretty much obvious that any public production on a hosted system is going to be an illegal rip. Some sites such as Hulu get privileges to share the content that they provide, but you'll notice that even this does not come without some sort of cost (commercials, ads, & so on).
