This is a screen shot of the game I am currently developing for XBLIG, it is a connect four clone. I have already built a custom particle engine, that has different types of emitters, like a strobe emitter, and stream emitter, or just a regular all directional emitter. Plus, I have an animation engine that makes it easy to add in new animations, rotate them move them, and scale them. The initial AI is already done, but I feel that it is to easy, so I am working on MINIMAX ai for it. That is giving me a major headache, but never the less, here it is.

This is a pic of the glow effect highlighting the last placed piece.

this is the glowing trail for when you drop the chip into place.

Working on another effect that is like a shock wave for when the chips fall into place.

Started with the new engine since DBD was a prototype.

Welcome to DOOR FIST.

You play as a mutated doorknob, and you have to fight your way through a ton of enemies and stages.

Made in about 1 week and a half, with our new tools, with tool improvements this is already easy to make games.

I figured that I'd post the game that I'm currently working on. It's pretty much my recreation the mobile game Jetpack Joyride called Dodger. I use XNA 4.0 refresh with Visual Basic.Net in a windows form application.

Main Menu -

Play Screen -

The main menu doesn't actually use any XNA at all. It's all just built in .Net methods and functions. You use the up and down or w and s keys to cycle through the features. Unfortunately I don't have a shop ready yet, but the high score function is just an integer value stored in My.Settings.

For the play screen, this is where all the XNA happens. I loop through the same background repeatedly. I show only half the size of the background and just move it's position to the left during the loop. Once the background has completed a full cycle, it just resets the background image position to it's original position.

My current goals:
Day 1: Get the player to appear
Day 2: Work on moving the player around
Days 3 - 5: Get the coins to appear
Days 6 - 8: Get the obstacles to appear
Day 9: Work on a scoring system
Day 10: Fini

I am working on a small Snake game in XNA.
So far I've got the basics working with steering using WASD, and wrap around screen so you can exit left and enter right, and likewise top-bottom.

http://www.xnafan.net/downloads/!_games/snake/screens/snakeimage.jpg

Apples pop up around the snake, and when they're eaten the apple cores fall off the screen.
For every apple eaten your snake grows one tile in length, and you get a point for every tile of length your snake is.
Every time you eat a new apple withing 3 seconds of the previous, your bonus multiplier is increased, so after getting three apples, each within 3 secs of the previous your multiplier is at x3. This means if you're a snake 12 tiles long and eat a new apple that would get you 3x12 = 36 points. I like the concept so far.
I've just added magnets. They aren't working yet, but I am planning to add coins popping up at random places as well, and the magnet will make you vaccuum them up from a couple of tiles around.

You can download the working version from this post (attached - XNA 4.0).

Feedback is more than welcome! :)/>

Kind regards - Jakob

Hmm.... link to download went MIA.
