Figured I'd share what I've been working on for a while. It's not finished yet, but I'd say it's well enough along to show a screen shot or two.

Both of these screen shots are from the 2nd level of the game:

Right now the point of this game is to hit the yellow brick while not hitting as many blue bricks as possible. For every blue brick you hit, you'll lose 100 points.

Good looking checkers game you got there. Just one question. Why do you not have a login for this site? It's free, easy, and only takes a couple minutes.

Actually, just thought of another question. Do you have any plans to release this project as open source? I'd love to take a wander through your code.

Just something I'm working on, I know the graphics suck, but that's my fault, I'm not an artist. It's hope fully gonna become a multiplayer online roleplaying game. Don't know if it'll make it there though.

I'm actually working on an engine, me and 2 other guys are doing this as a fun hobby, there's me as the coder, another guy as the designer, and we have another dude as a graphic artist, so far this is what I've done, the mech is a SNES game called metal warriors.

Features:
-I built my own random level generator
--Can generate shapes and what not
-My own tile water system
-Lighting effects
-Particle system
-Tile destruction!
-Sun/moon
-Clock and the ambience works with it, gets dark around 8pm and pitch black at 12am, get light at 6am.
-Clouds if you go up high enough
-Rain/Snow
-Mechs have a generated stat array

And much much MORE!

Basically I have slapped everything together and got this, it runs 60fps with 50,000 tile down and a max of 200,000 tiles down * by 40 (8,000,000 tiles) across with 30 fps.

I have a blogging website that explains how my tile destruction works, check out http://frostydowns.blogspot.com/

Everyone has to start somewhere. Are you planning on using the XNA Racing Game starter kit to help you with the racing game, edu2004eu? If not, I'd suggest at least looking it over as I'm sure you'll find some useful information in there somewhere.

Well I'm not going to use the actual starter kit, cause the project doesn't seem to be working on my computer (don't have a hi-def graphic card and I've moved to XNA 4.0), but I will definitely take a look over the code, as soon as I learn some more XNA, cause I just started it 2 days ago.

I've spent very little time looking over the code for the racing starter kit, but I have no doubt that it'll help you a lot. And we're always here to answer questions.

Anyone got any updates to any of their games lately? This thread doesn't have enough activity in my opinion. I'll be sure to grab a couple shots from the RPG I'm working on and post them in here later tonight even though I've already got a couple shots on my DIC blog. I'd like to see the progress that you guys have made recently on those games!

Here's a couple screen shots from the RPG I've been toying with, as promised. One is just a shot of the battle screen as I have it at the moment. The commands aren't actually working just yet as I haven't gotten to that part yet. The other image is a shot of the basic tile engine that I'm using right now. There are plans to make the tile engine more elaborate than just reading values from an array of integers for now. Thinking of actually making it read from a file that contains 2 values for each tile. The first would determine the texture drawn for that tile, and the next one would define whether or not it's a solid tile. Obviously you don't want to be able to walk across cliffs and over trees or houses, but there are always many other things I could add to that file. All content is still subject to change as I see fit, but at least the two shots here give a general idea of what I've been up to for the past couple of weeks other than working 50+ hours a week. Progress reports will be done on a semi-regular basis on my DIC blog to keep track of what needs to be done and what type of progress I've made on what I'm implementing into this thing.
