Final Version of My Site

Posted 06 December 2009 - 03:54 AM

YO!

After a tonne of revisions and time wasting on my website, I needed to get something up on the site - so I have.

I know it's very red, but it works on 90% of screens that arn't too bright :P

http://www.rudiv.se/

Any Thoughts??

Note that the Software Portfolio isn't 100% complete yet, nor are the rest of the Portfolio Pages, it's going to click through to each project eventually.

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

Looks great? Maybe a darker red though, it feels like I've stared at the sun for a long time. Also, on your about me page, maybe you want to include a link to your Dream in code profile. :) Nice going though!

Darker Red for sure, and the title font looks like it was stretched upwards, try a more even typeface.

Darker red it is, will get to it in the morning :) Will also add a more direct link to my profile!

It's meant to be like that, all of the H1's/H2's are also in the same font/style, t'is meant to be narrow :)

Looks great! Don't mind the red at all!

Would like to see maybe a blogroll or something on the home page to draw me in or something, but that's about it

Cheers

Well I am going to say pretty much the same others did - the bright red is way too bright and hurts my eyes, sincerely saying. Maybe try chosing a different color scheme? Dark blue? Dark green? Even dark red (although I am not quite sure how that will look).

How bright is your screen :D

Anyway I've made it darker now, t'is about as dark as I want to go with the red, I always thought CC0000 was more than dark enough :|

Trying to think of a good tall/narrow font to use for you... A few that come to mind in the free category:

Quicksand:

Nice and thin creating a cleaner effect when made to be taller.

GeoSans:
http://www.dafont.co...sans_light.font

Naturally tall and thin.

As far as the red though I have an idea for you to make the transition smoother. Take the Gradient Tool in Photoshop and use the circular type with a darker red tone, drag it long across from the center and cut the resulting oval gradient in half. It creates a nice shadow effect and helps add depth to the page.

Example: (Though in reverse on the white)

Probably a tad bit overkill on how present the gradients are but you get the idea.
