Help Me Decide?

Posted 10 December 2009 - 08:02 PM

Alright, so just finished watching Animation VS. Animator 2 for the umptieth time. And then I realized just how great flash is. I've been studying C++ for a few days now. Should I switch to Flash? Or should I stick with C++ no matter how much I love flash? It's a hard decision for me to make. I've been stuck between animation and programming for a while now.

Words of wisdom?

Flash uses Actionscript which is like programming. Kinda, sorta.

You've pretty much mastered C++. Time to move on! You're on your way :)

Ugh, C++ and flash are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Couldn't hurt to do both. But dropping C++ in its entirety? Not a good idea in my humble opinion.

You could go with Silverlight, it uses C# coding and is microsoft's version of flash (though I have no experience with it other than that bit of knowledge)

I'm with KYA on this one... Don't drop C++ but learn flash on the side. C++ exposes you to so many key programming concepts such as pointers that you just won't get in flash.

Cheers

Thanks for the help guys. I'll still continue to learn C++, but maybe in my spare time I'll try to learn some Flash, and then after a long while of C++, I'll start trying to master flash.

Thanks for the advice.
