I knew that site for a long time, but haven't noticed this little writing.
But it gave me back some of my lost dreams, lol.

Anyway, its really sad, that giant corporations buy up the names of little firms, who actually made something new, and then they are reluctant to credit the new ideas of the founders, and sooner or later the real men behind the names leave, and all you get is an endless loop of sequels, and "engineered" game ideas.

intellectual property rights are great and all, but sounds like these kids have been watching a few too many blade movies and reading a little too much of das kapital.

It does have some great points for intellectual rights but it's starting to sound like a video game developer's version of a communism.

That's what I intended to do :)

I also like how you used the phrases 'a FEW to many' and 'a LITTLE too much'

Funny, I didn't think that it had to do anything with communism, either.
Its true, that it criticized the software industry at its present state, but NOT the commercialism. Actually it was about HOW to create games that actually sell not just due to luxurious ad campaigns, but based on originality, fun, etc. And it tried to somewhat soften that more and more taken-as-a-fact view that game making is only for industries and if you want to make a living out of it, you have to join one of the big ones, and you have no chance making it on your own. Well, that's what I read, maybe its due to my inferior English, or that I am from the former communist block of Eastern Europe - and communism means more like dictatorship to me, then the pink fantasies of Mr. Marx. Yeah, actually the Hungarian punk movement emerged against communism and embraced nationalism, so it is quite fun to watch now the old and new punks clash...
Yay, that went way off, so back to the topic, here is another view of The industry. Again, I'm not saying that it can't be done well.
