Thanks for the book info. I know 3d probably isn't a possiblity, right now, especially since the guy that has partnered with me is in 10th now, but is a better programmer than me, and i'm not afraid to admit it. I've still got alot to learn, but i know it's not all x and y variables, but it's gonna be hard to make any gui based game when i don't have any art, and any attempt that i make, looks horrible...

Ok putting the programming of games on hold i should of said that earlier but dang i was such a n00b and didn't know what the crap i was talking about. I'm starting out in my programmming I class now, and will be making some the programs i have to in there, and try to learn c# after i finish this class(also try to work on some small software projects along the way like a notepad mockup and some kind of firefox mockup as well). Also i changed the site m46sg.co.cc though i'm have a few code problems here and there. I'll get to the site and fix it when i get the chance especially the forums and other pages.

Edit: it's a Mal/HTMLGen-A so it might be down for quite awhile have to figure out how to remove it

Ok updates for the site since it is high time i update this thread and show some work i've done to make it better:
- The site is now at m46sg.tk because i had to move just to get php 5.3 usable to me once my CMS i use is avabile to be stable enough to work
- Site design is nearly completed only a few minor things mostly involving the footer and right sidebar are left to be done
- I have learned python(to an extent so far) and learned pygame(to a extent as well) and started to make pong which i have set up on github as a download site for it at www.github.com/milleja46/pong and will be updating tonight with my most recent changes to it as it's been reborn several times as each chapter teaches me a new way to write it
- I'm planing to learn c++ in the future as well
- Also i've implemented a wiki and news feature which i will be constantly updating when i can to make sure the most relevant information is availible to users of the site and hope to use the news module i've installed to not only keep information on the site up to date but as well keep some major tech news on the site as well.

Feel free to give suggestions to me eitehr here or on the site and i will try to improve over the coming weeks, months, and years to come hopefully ;)

Edit: if a mod would like to split the topic at this post and move it to a better forum where it might be better recieved and give it a better name i would appreciate it :)

well.. it's not the most appealing site I've been to, but certainly not the worst.

When i hit the site the 'home' button should be in a 'button down' state, right?
The color scheme is boring.

The 'search the site' seems.. just thrown there for no reason.

You certainly love your 'center' justified, don't you?

The right hand bar with the 'username', 'password', etc. I don't get it. Why is there a 'home' button there? Why is it centered? Why is it not right justified (or left for that matter)?

Why is there a drop down for English when there's only one choice?

Why is your footer a second menu bar?

Why is 'news' and 'home' so similar? Do you really need two at that point?

In the 'about'.. usually the created/update business is at the bottom - not the first thing up.

Why is the 'M46 S&G' header so darn big?

The login for the wiki embedded in the login for the site seems goofy.

The home button part is a odd bug i've been trying to sort it out for a few hours last night, while the color scheme if you or anyone else have some better ideas on that matter feel free to suggest

Well another part i've been working is placing that item properly

Well the content part of that was a accident and will try to fix this afternoon

As well that part should be left justifed on the screen, the 'home' part as you say is part of a menu that provides you options to see your UAC when you are logged in.

I've been meaning to find how to put some more languages in there and i will be fixing that part soon as well

That part is supposed to be some good quicklinks to checkout

Hmm, good point i'll remove the news link and it'll just be accessible through the home page

the timestamp shown there i'm going to remove, just didn't get around to it

If you're talking about the text that probably does need to be resized

Well the wiki is linked to the site via a module so it's going to be linked no matter what and personally makes since in the long run to keep tabs on has posted content or what to it(though i plan to change things in the future to only allow registered users to post on the wiki and allow guests to post comments on the wiki)

Thanks for the suggestions and those are completly valid and do need to be fixed ;)

@modi123_1: how does it look now? Besides the fact the footer doesn't stick to the bottom and the sidebar isn't as tall as the maincontent stuff.

Menu buttons are left justified now?

The box holding the 'm46 s&g' is still oddly large.
Search box hasn't changed much. Maybe put it in the bar with teh buttons at the top.

The username/password box is still cluttered. Make that it's own box (visually).

I still don't get why there are: 'main menu', 'home', 'languages' there.
The color scheme is still bum bland and ugly.

I don't understand why 'coming soon' is at the bottom.

homebutton is still not enabled when i hit the site.

I don't like the browser wide for the menu, 'm46' box, and the footer stuff. Make that the fixed size of the white boxes and extend the gray border up and around.

project links that take you off the site should verbally say something about where it is taking you.

Better clean up the columns.

Well what i might i change the navbar, or header's colors to so that it doesn't seem to bland. I'm having troubles coming up with the best solution for color choices to make it seem better....
