Also, any resolutions you might have for 2010? A couple for me is to lose some weight. Id like to get down to 220-ish. I'd also like to free up enough time I could be done with my bachelors by August. Finally, get a promotion.

New Years Parties and Resolutions

Hey, any of yall get wild and crazy on New Years and count it down or you just see it as another day? I didnt get to party last year but I plan on making up for both last year and this year.

Lent is pointless if you're giving up something so you can tell other people. The whole point of Lent/New Year's resolution(s) is for your own personal benefit and growth.
If anyone ever comes up to me and tells me what they gave up for Lent, they're a liar.

we pretty much fall on the same page. i just think if you are going to quit something or do something because you know it's better for you, you should just do it, not wait for some arbitrary date.
i'm all about setting goals and self-sacrifice etc etc.

Idk what I'm doing for New Years. I'm going to have that day off anyways, so....
As for a resolution.... I never do it but I would like to try to make it to class everyday lol. No more sick days. I've been doing really good. I only missed a total of 3 classes last quarter (not the same class)

I agree. Why have one date be the only one day of the year where you set goals for yourself and either quit doing things that lessen your life, or set goals that will make you happy? I'm a hedonist, and I believe in going after whatever you want in life no matter what the f-cking day is.

I haven't decided what party to go to, but I am definitely going to make up for the lack of parties the last two weeks.

Well for the first time in my life I've made a new years resolution: I'm going to quit smoking (Well that's my deadline for being stopped, started about a month ago by cutting down and by 01JAN10 I wont be a smoker anymore)

Thanks
This past hunting season was the clincher, it was the first time that my age really caught up with me and I know the smoking made it even worse.
