Browser Question

Posted 28 December 2009 - 12:52 AM

I like playing games online and one of the websites I play on is trying to force me to get a premium subscription because I've had multiple accounts log in from the same computer. How does a website track that? If I clear all of my cookies and browser history and make a new account, would I be able to avoid that? Does it do that by tracking my ip address?

It's most likely tracking your IP address. It could have planted a cookie on you to accomplish the same thing, but I feel IP address logging is more likely.
