Just for you no2pencil, because I like ya ;)

lose (opposite of win) by misspelling it as loose ( Not tight)

weird (i before e except after c and in weird) with the word wierd

Their(posseive) They're (contraction) There(refers to a place or idea)

Your (possesive) with You're (contraction)

Its(possesive) It's(contraction)

Definitely

Effect (most of the time it's a noun) with Affect (most of the time is a verb)

Weather with Whether

A lot vs alot

Then (used with/for time) vs Than (used for comparison)

The “it's” vs. “its” mistake really really gets on my nerves. Especially in books.

For me, it's when people say icosahedron when they really mean icosidodecahedron. Jerks.

I feel like the worst is "your" vs "you're" because some jackass always says

Quote

Your a(n) moron/idiot/dumbass.

and immediately invalidates their point via the hypocrisy clause.

Completely agree. After leet speak and just arbitrarily dropping vowels, this one is really gets under my skin.

Interesting that there are few real spelling errors on the list; spell checkers rule! Rather, it's mostly ignorant usage.

Those were the same thoughts that passed my mind as I was reading The Oatmeal. The comic strip was more of a misuse of words than spelling them correctly.

Judging by the rest of your posts, you are generally the culprit more than the one having difficulty understanding. =p

Their(posseive) They're (contraction) There(refers to a place or idea)

Your (possesive) with You're (contraction)

These are the ones that annoy me the most. We've got to clarify the proper use of these terms specifically.

Their
As in, "They gave it their best efforts."

They're
Used interchangeably with "they are".
As in, "They're just not going to shut up any time soon."
Same as: "They are just not going to shut up any time soon."

There
In reference of a noun. As in, "Get your ass over there and make me some bacon." In this context, there refers to the kitchen.

Your
As in, "Is that your massive shit in the toilet?!"

You're
Used interchangeably with "you are".
As in, "Now you're really pissing me off!"
Same as: "Now you are really pissing me off!"

See the difference?
As in, "Now you're really pissing me off! Get your ass back over there! They're still waiting for that damned bacon!"

Now, let's see who can use them all correctly in a sentence! :D
