MySQL Petition sent to regulators in EU, China and Russia

The creator of MySQL Michael Widenius sent his petition to EU, China and Russia regulators in a plea to prevent Oracle from ditching MySQL, as he believes Sun's acquisition by Oracle would mean the end of MySQL. Or at least an end to its competitiveness.

I am not sure it is much to worry about. Not sure if anything has changed since this article was written but it talks about what oracle plans to do with mysql.
