Perhaps you should read the 'Post your own code first' part of the forum rules before posting. In response to your question, you can use the Process.Start function to start an external executable file.

Hi,

You should look into Process.Start or the Shell Command.

Google it up and you should find what each one of them do...

Hi all, im am trying to make an shell app to replace explorer.exe during startup in the register.
it would be a game launcher for lan party's so that the pc does not have explorer running, makes the pc a bit faster.

i have used shell to execute and process.start and even start.

but games like battlefield 2 and anno 1404 will not start and just crash with errors.
This code is not done yet im am still trying to get the buttons to launch a game succesfully.

[ code removed ]
Could anybody help me with this to succesfully get the games starting?
i am guessing that the game is starting in the vb app thread proces but im to new at this.

Anything would be very helpfull.

Sorry, but this can potentially be used the wrong way.

Altering one of the main system processes is not a good idea and it shoudn't be done. explorer.exe is an essential process and many applications require it to run.

We will not help with such kinds of tasks.
