Windows 7 God Mode

Posted 07 January 2010 - 06:29 AM

Has anyone else seen this really cool feature, I just found it yesterday

Create a new folder anywhere, and rename it to "GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}" (without the quotes), then open it. (Windows 7 only, if that was not already understood)

It reads like an onion article, but it is true and is kinda neat.

omg. Windows got slapped in the hand for easter eggs ("undocumented features") in the past. Wonder if GodMode files under that?

This is nothing more but all Control Panel options listed in one window. No secret/hidden tweaks can be found there. A simple explanation to this option can be found here:

Yes - I'm greatly amused by this, and it's nice not to have to go digging through the control panel and properties. :P

Name the folder DreamInCodeMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} and see cool stuff happening. (via @jfollas)
