"Avatar flirts with false doctrines"
Pope condemns new blockbuster film on nature
Millions of moviegoers love the great movie "Avatar". But the Vatican
and the Pope condemns James Cameron's work.
- The flirts in a clever way with all the false doctrines that have made
ecology a millennium of religion, according to the Vatican.
James Cameron "Avatar" is not impressive at the Vatican. The
reason: it shows a world where you shall worship nature.
Vatican's newspaper has found that the film is simple and shows few real
feelings, having spoken to the bishops after the preview.
None of creation
Vatican's own radio station, stated:
- The flirts in a clever way with all the false doctrines that have made
ecology a millennium of religion. Nature is no longer a creature to defend
without a deity to worship.
Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi says that the criticism
reflects the Pope's view that it is dangerous to see nature in a divine way.
Benedict XVI speaks often about the importance of protecting
nature, but he warned that in order to make man equal with other living
beings, writes AP.
Extra strong
While the Vatican is raging psychologists warn of the impact the film has on
moviegoers.
Psychiatrist Stephan Quentzel believe that Cameron's lifelike 3D
animations and length of the movie makes the feeling of entering another
world will be extra strong. It may be the real world to work more
poorly, "he told CNN.
On the Internet forum posts are written by fans who suffered from
depressive feelings.
A person who calls himself Mike wrote on fan sites Naviblue that he had
suicidal thoughts after seeing the film.
"Was depressed"
CNN interviewed Ivar Hill, who calls himself the forums Eltu, a 17 year old
Swedish guy about his feelings.
- I was depressed because I really want to live in Pandora, which seemed
like such a perfect place, but I was too depressed and disgusted at the
sight of our world, "he says.
In an email to Entertainment blade want Hill to explain that it is incorrect to
argue that many fans experienced suicidal feelings.
- What is true for us common with depressive feelings are not really that
we want to live in Pandora (although this is something you can experience
at the beginning), but Avatar has made us realize what is happening with
the earth (pollution, etc -- and other wise humanity has impacted the world
in a negative way).
The gramar can be messed up so if something sounds strange/funny/etc you know it's googles fault!
My question is how did the film affect you? Did you get depressed or did you as me had it easy to see that this is a movie and not reality. It would be fun (and intressting) to see how people reacted. I have only seen the commercals yet and some trailers but I will see it as soon as I can.
Debate, share your thoughts about this movie and it's effect on you (if any)!
