Today I got the news from the team leader who has been following up on my current programs that I am inlisted at Microsoft, and I have the official Microsoft Partner badge to add to my resume.

That is not all. They were impressed on when the program started, when I signed up and how quickly I was able to get a website running, the technologies that were needed to be used within the requirements of the program to succeed, and they have offered me to lead me in the right direction to become an official Microsoft Certified Partner.

Now this would mean I would have to take atleast one certificate program after I am done with my E-learning through Microsoft and pass it enough to obtain the certificate. Once I have obtained the certificate I will be eligible to call myself a Microsoft Certified Partner.

To those programmers who already are a Microsoft Certified Partner what certificate did you take, and what is it like. What do you advice me to do during e-learning and taking the exams for the certificate? Never have taken one before I do not know the difficulty of the exams.

I am currently a web developer using ASP.Net MVC / ASP.Net , C#, Silverlight with all the client-side languages I don't feel like listing. I am quite good but not a master by far in SQL since I just built 4 databases this year. I know my way around SQL databases, how to set them up on a server through shared hosting and dedicated servers, and during my last project and the next couple of projects coming up this year I am assigned as Sr. Lead Developer.

My main focus has been for now web development with a splash of WPF application development and as a hobby I study XNA and make games for my xbox Elite (which I just recently purchased).

Any advice?

For now is for my own recognition and 1099 work, but whenever I successfully start my own business it'll be for my business.

Congrats on the Microsoft Partner, it will lead to good things. If you look into XNA, or LINQ (w/ parallel processing), you'll find some cool things to work with. Just pick something your comfortable with but want to know more about, you'll get the most out of the experience that way

Thanks for all of the great support people! This past 3 weeks has been very difficult for me with my health problems, and still determined not to give up on my programming contracts, since I have now become a very popular seeked developer in the Washington D.C. area. The job itself has been quite rigorous I must admit being the only Senior Developer for the project, however, it has also kept my thought process away from what is happening to me health wise, which makes me less depressed at times.

I have recently received a server for a year being in the Website spark program, which would be crule as a member of this community without sharing, so here is the link

If you're in the website spark program you get a piece of a server for a year with no cost. It's pretty sweet given the specs of the server. Not the best in the world, or anywhere comparable to something I'm use to using like rackspace, but I can't complain.

Also, I have been informed all who are in the programs will also be getting their soon to be official MS Partner membership account numbers (which will give us extra perks) and those who want to be a Microsoft Certified Partner they will soon provide the right guidence, and E-Learning courses, and exams so you can accomplish that.
