Hmmm, all the complains about TweetDeck have me thinking about writing something to compete. I have a lot of experience in this field and may actually put it to work. Let me sit on that and think for a while

I've never had TweetDeck use all my API calls either. Strange that KYA's having the problem.

Wrote this simple terminal-based twitter client in Python a while ago. Thought I'd post it here.

Simply fill in the values in the ttrc.py and run tt.py help for information on usage.

Wrote a PHP app that let's you set feed URLs to watch in a MySQLi database, then whenever the app runs if there's a new post it will post it to a twitter account.

https://twitter.com/TweetFeed52WOC

Currently the #52WOC tag is hard coded in but everything else is created on the fly. I used SimplePie (http://simplepie.org) to parse the feeds.

Attaching the php file, it obviously has sensitive data removed. I was going to set this up on a cron job to update every 10 minutes, but then the login server to my hosting provider went down so I'll have to do that later.

EDIT: Forgot to note that all the URLs that are posted are shortened using bit.ly

EDIT2: The live demo is running on a cron job now, should update automatically with new posts.

Just made a simple, VERY simple perl script to post to twitter.

#!/usr/bin/perl

print "Twitter Username: ";
$user = <STDIN>;
print "Twitter Password: ";
$pass = <STDIN>;
print "Tweet: ";
$tweet = <STDIN>;
$tweetLength = length($tweet);

if ($tweetLength <= 140){
exec("curl --basic --user '$user:$pass' --data-ascii 'status=$tweet' http://twitter.com/statuses/update.json &>'/dev/null'");
}
else {
print "ERROR: Shorten your damn message Fool!\n";
}

So, apparently there is something wrong with this because it intermittently post duplicates. I'll see if I can find time to take a look at it later this week.

Thank you guys for getting involved in this challenge! Just so you know, you can post your applications/code snippets that are implementing the Twitter API anytime, so the week is over, but the challenge is not.

I forgot to post this when I made it.

I made a twitter bot that finds the top trending topic, does a Yahoo! search for "wiki + (trending topic)" and posts that link. It was ideally supposed to be posting a wikipedia link every time but of course it wasn't always wikipedia. I let it run for a few weeks and decided to stop it.. so the last link was on Mother's Day. Here it is.

These functions are not working because now twitter not accepting basic authentication.
Can any one help to resolve the twitter profile image upload using Oauth authentication in c#.

Thanks,
S.Thangavel
