animating character in flash in 2.0

hi all,

im recreating Abe's Oddesy in flash AS2.0, Abe has 6 movements to animate his walk, he is moving about the screen fine but it will only play the first 2 frames of his animation

in the Abe "char" movie clip i have 6 frames, all keyframes

any help would be great so i can carry on making my levels

maybe post a fla for us to look at? Its very hard to debug such a question with so little info!
