Reading excel files in database using java
Posted 19 January 2010 - 11:20 AM
Hi! I want to store the data in MS-Excel file to Database(PostgreSQL) using java. I've tried for poi api but no direct way to store in database, even I've tried it using jdbc-odbc bridge but in that case we have to change the settings of the that particular pc using control panel whereas the requirement is that the application which I'm developing should be portable.
Can anybody please suggest me a good solution? I'm in dire need of that! Thanks in advance

Actually, your best bet would be VBA. I'm supposed to know how to do this by heart, but I don't
I fail at work.

JExcelApi (just Google for it) will allow you to read an Excel spreadsheet from Java
then you can populate your database accordingly
