Next Monday is the deadline to register and submit your game story board or business plan for Microsoft's ImagineCup 2010. ImagineCup 2010 is a Microsoft sponsored competition in which participants create games and software with a particular theme. The 2010 Imagine Cup theme is: “Imagine a world where technology helps solve the toughest problems.” (think World problems).

Participants and winners in the Imagine Cup have a leg up on the competition when getting their first job after college. The Imagine Cup is a world wide recognized competition and looks great on a resume!

I was looking at this the other day. On the website the rounds looks like this:
Round Start Date (all times 12:01 AM PT) End Date (all times 11:59 PM PT)
Fall Round 1 - Qualifying September 3, 2009 October 9, 2009
Fall Round 2 – Semi Finals October 10, 2009 November 20, 2009
Spring Round 1 - Qualifying December 15, 2009 February 1, 2010
Spring Round 2 – Semi Finals February 2, 2010 March 15, 2010
Round 3 – US Finals April 2010 April 2010

It also says:
This competition starts at 12:01 AM Pacific Time (PT) on September 3, 2009, and ends at 11:59 PM PT on March 15, 2010 (“Entry Period”). The Entry Period consists of five (5) separate Rounds as described below. Each round has unique entry requirements and all required entry deliverables must be received within the designated Round in order to be eligible for judging.

So can you still enter if you've already missed the Qualifiying Round for the Spring Round?

If you can submit a story board by Feb 1 I think you're golden. That's what the Microsoft folks told me.

For the game and software there is a fall session and a spring session - they are completely separate.

The fall session is done and 5 teams were picked http://www.microsoft...inalistspr.mspx

You HAVE to submit to round 1: Feb 1st to submit a final project on March 15.

This year the worldwide finals are in Poland and the US finals are in DC.
