I think the apps will determine its success in the case of normal everyday users. As for the fan-boys(girls), well . . . we call them fan-boys for a reason.

i will not be canceling my nook order (it ships on the first), i just can't see reading on an lcd screen being all that comfortable. who knows. i see the device being a really solid airplane movie kind of thing right now, with some neat iphone apps, but not much else. YET. the lack of camera and gps also disappoints. not to mention, 500 for the base model is retarded. 16gb of memory does not seem to be nearly enough for all the things they want it to be able to do. maybe in 2 years when i get the 64gb for 3 hundo.

i'm totally down for everyone developing and making this thing better in the meantime though.
