Media player in visual c# using direct show

Posted 28 January 2010 - 09:32 AM

I have started building a media player in visual c# for my college project.
I have decide to use direct show control for this purpose, but then i came to know that Microsoft has removed Direct show support for .net applications.
Can you suggest me some way to use Direct show control in Visual C#,if not then please suggest some other alternative to look for which has similar features as Direct show.

Currently i'm using Visual studio 2010 beta2.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there.

What sort of media is your application going to play? Audio, Video, Internet Radio, all of the above?

It should be capable of playing general audio/video format like mp3,wmv,avi,mkv,flv etc.
I also have a thought of implementing audio/video capture property in it.
Can you suggest anything?
