If you're reading this, you're on the new forums, on our new server. Go ahead and report issues in this thread but please try to read the first few posts to see if your issue is already mentioned.

LOG OUT AND LOG BACK IN FIRST TO RESOLVE ANY PERMISSIONS ISSUES

Known issues:

- New Topic/Reply Screen Layout Is Messed Up

- [code], [code=language],[il],[spoiler], etc. tags no processed. This will be fixed in the coming hours as posts are re-cached on the new server.
- Profile Pages layout is messed up.
- Kudos Cron isn't running so promotions and kudos processing won't take place till tomorrow.

If you encounter any ERRORS, please post the error, screen shot, URL you encountered the error on, etc.

If there is just a horrible skin problem, post a screen shot, browser you're using, and link to the page.

Thanks!

Things may be a bit slow overnight as all the old posts re-cache and such.

It is looking great! Currently using Opera and some images are not showing etc. but I shall check again on firefox when I get home later.

EDIT: It seems my signature has broken... is this due to the new system?

I am not able to create blog posts: I click save, choosing "Published" status, and the message doesn't appear in the blog.

I hate to play the wet blanket, but is it possible to add an option to revert to a graphic layout more similar to the old one? So far, I've run into two points-of-major-dislike, both related to things being larger on the screen now than they were previously:

1) Under the new layout, the rows in the forum overview screens are substantially taller than they used to be, meaning that only about half as many posts appear in the same amount of vertical space, which impedes the process of doing a quick visual scan of a forum for which threads have new activity.

2) The old layout sized itself perfectly to the width of my browser at all times. The new one still does so on most pages, but, when the post editor is displayed, it grows to about 20% wider than my browser window, forcing me to scroll horizontally to get the full editor visible. The size of the editor remains consistent with browser window resizing, so I suspect that there's some element on the page which is forcing the central column to a specific, non-% width, but a quick run through the HTML/CSS with Firebug failed to identify the element which is causing this. This issue with the layout being wider than my browser persists even when the browser is maximized on my 1280x854 display; it's not just a "the site is designed for 1024x768, so deal with it" case. (Browser is Firefox 3.5.7 on OSX/PPC.)

I'm assuming that #2 is just a bug in the new CSS somewhere, but resolving #1 presumably requires an option to either remove the "views" count from the stats column or make that column wider so that only two lines of text are required to display each topic in the forum summary rather than four lines as it currently stands.

Edit: *facepalm* The width issue was specific to this thread, due to the screenshot posted earlier. It is not a CSS or site-wide layout bug.

Good points
It feels a lot snappier and more responsive.

Issues

Google Chrome(4.0.249.78)
Attached Image
- Right side has unused space
- Icons are wrapping

Blogs
- I preferred the old style of Blog Title then latest entry title
- Entries seem very wide.
UPDATE: They appear wide because the CODE Sections being too wide.
(Is it possible to set maximum width)
- Calendar you can't tell which dates have entries except for link cursor.
- If it is close button on the Tags doesn't do any thing.
++ Chris the strange date bug has gone.

Looks like the tags system is changed with this new layouts. You need to edit your signature and get the new tags to make it look as it was earlier.

When you quote someone that has an emoticon in their text you get this as part of the quote.

<img src="http://www.dreamincode.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

EDIT: Also when you click on a user's profile... if you click the blog tab you get the following error:
www.dreamincode.net Driver Error
There appears to be an error with the database.
If you are seeing this page, it means there was a problem communicating with our database. Sometimes this error is temporary and will go away when you refresh the page. Sometimes the error will need to be fixed by an administrator before the site will become accessible again.

It looks like the quote tags aren't processed correctly either. They expand and overlap the user's profile information. I'm using IE 7 (not by choice) with 1280x800 resolution. I've encountered it on a thread in the Java forum as well as this thread. Also, the big yellow bar where you advertise "Need help for a school project?" for users without DIC++ is static at the top of the screen for all the pages I've been to so far, only it doesn't have text. It should be visible in the pic I attached.

Overall, though, I'm definitely happy with the upgrades! Keep up the good work Chris! :D

in this post..

http://www.dreaminco...=0&#entry911291

the "quote" tags don't show up correctly. (FIXED)

Attached Image

yet, the "quote" tag in this current thread looks fine.

Attached Image

Using Chrome 4.0.249.78 (36714)

also, there is so much empty space between the topic "images"(no replies, new replies, hot topic). (FIXED)

Attached Image

EDITED: Looks like a couple of these are now fixed. great job

All in all very nice, just found one small thing apart from the few that others have posted.

At the very top, where the yellow advertising banner appears when not logged in, i get a thin yellow line as if its partially there even when logged in.

also, the "topic creator" and "last post" user names are not color-coded to match the user.
