Me and my brother have recently launched a web site providing promotional services - http://www.firstbannermuseum.com/ .

I would grateful if you would review the site and comment on its design, idea and functions. This is imoprtant to me, as this the first such project, I'm involved in.

I like the looks of it...quite clean and crisp. I did not try out all the functionality as I have no banners to add, but everything seemed to work smoothly. I'm not a web designer by trade (so take these comments with a grain of salt), but if I were to change anything, it would be fairly minor, items such as

• Perhaps a more muted green for the top banner...closer to the darker side of the gradient being used.
  
• Having alt tags for the smaller buttons (vote, etc...), as it is not always easy to tell what they are for.
  
• Changing the edging on the central piece of the page to either be more crisp, or more ragged. I find the current look kind of in between, but I don;t know which way to go with it.

Overall, I really like it. Great job.

Ok Let's say i pretended to be a normal user.

Design Wise : Neat and Elegant, no annoying element at all. cant comment on colours as its a personal choice, maybe you could hold up a poll on your website getting suggestions from users what colours they want you website to be in.

Functionality : Homepage, Bookmark, Voting , Links work nicely.


Edit : since i too dont have a banner to add, i didnt test it, maybe i will sometime later

With such project, the result is very dependent on the promotion - that's what I gonna do in nearest future, after I finish some other technical stuff with my site.

Yesterday my page got into Alexa - its first ranking there is - 1041426. I think its ok, as my site has only appeared a week ago.

This is a good example for beginners (and not only!) to look at, because it shows that perfection is simple.
