Set Difference Operation

Posted 13 February 2010 - 04:22 PM

Hello,

I have been working for about a week on this problem and I can't seem to get anywhere with it.

Quote

Use set difference operation to find those car owners from Pittsburgh,
whose cars demonstrate low fuel efficiency (MPG < 30)?

I am working with 2 tables Car and Car_owner

Attributes:
Car: Car_id, Manufature, Model, Year, MPG

Car_owner: Car_id, Name, City, State

I cannot figure out how to go about using set difference ( - ) to answer this question.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ok, I think i may have found this one out.

Here is what I have come up with:

PROJECT car_id(car_owner) - PROJECT car_id(SELECT MPG < 30(car))

I hope I am on the right track.
