Website Background

I've seen loads of websites like

http://www.happycog.com/
or
http://www.brandonmilford.com/

but how do I duplicate that effect for the border?

for example; http://www.brandonmilford.com/

when right click --> view image, the image for the border is thingrayborder.jpg but when a search is performed in the source for this none can be founed?

its pretty simple if you use photoshop to create your layout, all he did was add a drop shadow to the end of his image and then just cut the part out and used it as a BG for the main table, this way as the page gets longer the image just repeats to create that effect.

I get everything except the "and used it as a BG for the main table" part

I tried setting it as the background in Dreamweaver and to repeat-y but it still doesnt centre the picture.

the picture is say 550px so he has his table to the same about.
then he created a new table right in the area wher its white so that the text is centerend

for BG i used this 
<tr style="background-image:url(/images/bg.jpg)">

if you take this code you will see what im talkin about, it was done really quick and is sloppy but it gets the point across
