WinSock

Are there any good Winsock Video Tutorials out there? Or a extremely good text one, not to lengthy. I've searched google for a good 20 minutes and came up empty handed.

Why would you need a VIDEO programming tutorial for something so totally NON-VISUAL?

Have you read any of the ones (non-video) that come up on a Google search of "Winsock Tutorial"?

"Not to[sic] lengthy" ... tutorials are, by their very nature, lengthy; particularly those on a complex subject such as networking.

Kids these days...jeez.

Calm yourself.

Due to the nature of text-based communication there are hundreds of ways to interpret sentences. JackOfAllTrades assumed you were looking for something that would be readable in about an hour.

No, I just hate being called a kid.

Back on topic, are there any Good Text tutorials that you've found / read, and yes about an hour seems reasonable.

It will take more than an hour to get a good understanding of WinSock. It's a huge library.

I'm talking the basics, I know it would take week(s) perhaps more to learn everything about it.

@FinalVersion you can consider this the only warning you will receive. That kind of language and attitude will not be tolerated in this community and you will not be reminded again and will be given a vacation to think about it if it happens again

That's not Winsock though...that's Unix sockets (although if he wants to fully understand sockets, that would be the place to go).

FinalVersion, why don't you tell us exactly what it is you're trying to do, and perhaps we can point you in an appropriate direction.
