I have programmed in VBA/VB6 but I have left for greener pastures of OOP such as Java and C++

I'm using VB6 for two major projects: a board game prototyping system and a general-purpose file processor.
In my career, I have written a gigantic database for the Philly Police Department and an ambitious automation database (as a temp(!!) ) for Comcast.


But guess what? I still don't know half of the cool things we can do with Visual Basic! That's why haven't paid attention to people telling me I need to learn a more modern language. I did consider learning VB.Net, back when I thought it was VB 7.0 and not a creature from another galaxy.

there is nothing wrong learning vb.net i my self think the same way but now that i write several programs on it i think its the same as VB6 (maybe a bit better). Not to mention that you can use the old native code in VB.NET as well.

I've been writing code in virtually all versions of BASIC going all the way back to TRSBASIC and MBASIC80. I jumped into the Windows versions with VB4 then VB5 and VB6 in 1997. I've done a lot of smaller database projects and developed an app suite used by county and state governments all over the country. This particular application uses six access databases and contains over 800 fields. I'm currently doing a major rewrite of it to use the Firdbird database with a lot of bells and whistles thrown in for Windows 7.

I'd be happy to offer what help I can to others.

I spent several years as an MCT running around the country teaching Microsoft's VB4, 5 and 6 classes. I've also developed a number of applications from scratch in VB6, some pretty large. While I'm not the strongest VB6 person I know, I'd say I'm an expert.

lol are u kidding me iv built every thing from yahoo chats programs to yahoo booter from a program that talkes for deph peaple to html editors to my own chat even made my own games i love vb there isnt any thing u cant do with vb6.iv built just about every type of program u can imagine.

me too have been using VB6 for creating some programs, some of them were payroll, grading, enrollment, inventory systems, etc.....i also have already used VB6 for creating a software for hardware purposes, like a software for controlling a robotic arm and for a vendo charging station.........
