I just registered for the ImagineCup 2010 for the Internet Explorer 8 Award. This means that I will need to do some research and develop a web application that uses Web Slices, Accelerators and Visual Search to a create a better tommorow (IE8-specific elements).
Anybody from DIC signed up for ImagineCup as well? If not, there is not much time left to sign up and to submit the entry, so if you have the skills and time, why not join?
P.S.: I will keep you guys updated on my progress through the competition in this thread. If anyone signed up, you are more than welcome to do the same.

Well, I had intended on doing it. Even got my business plan and started drawing it up and got a little coding done. But I've ended up getting to much on my plate. I could still probably pull something together in two weeks but there's no way I could pull off what I had originally intended.

i got selected for Round II of software design but due to time constraint was not able to complete the software 
We have submission 2morrow at 11:59PM IST.(The round II was for India local)
Also got selected for IT challenge Round II but not looking forward for it

As mentioned, I signed up for the Internet Explorer 8 Award (competition, in fact). Pretty much it's about developing a web site using IE8-specific features (Web Slices, Accelerators and Visual Search). And one more note to this - the site should be built according to the main topic of ImagineCup 2010.

Just got my hands on ASP.NET. Created a simple web form and added a Web Slice (creating it wasn't much of a hassle - it is a simple div with a specific class identifier) to the home page.

I didn't make it past round 1 in software design, which is probably a good thing considering the rest of my team didn't put any effort in and I ended up doing the entire plan and stuff myself. Maybe next semester....

last year my bro was in that dont remember what was the assignment. they end up 3 in our region but they ware only 5 teams any way

As of now, I just outlined the basic structure of my application. Got acustomed to ASP.NET and the way of doing things with it (at a basic level). Already learned a lot about Master Pages, CSS and SQL. So it is absolutely worth the time. Can't wait to see what this project will be at the end.
