You got down repped for trolling. So shut up about it. Mmmmk?

That's an undeserved response. All programble did was express his frustration about the challenge with a little sarcasm. He did not make any personal attacks like the one here.

These challenges are very interesting.

I have a few WPF applications I made last year. I'll get some time away from contract work and see if I can't spring something up.

I believe I already have Visual C# Express installed on my Windows partition, but never really used it, so hopefully I'll be able to have something simple up by the end of the week.

From what I have seen, WPF is cool and it seems interesting. My frustration is just as much with MS and Mono as it is with this challenge. I am sorry that sarcasm is regarded as trolling.

Please, get on with the challenge.

@programble : Unless something has drastically changed in the past few days WPF isn't available for Linux

I don't know if my Windows partition still exists...but I'm afraid this is one I cannot do...Can next weeks be cross-platform? I got Spring Break! :P

And this is the thread where he should express his frustration over Microsoft only supporting Windows with .Net and Mono not supporting WPF? I don't think so.

He is using an OS that is not mainstream. It's his choice that he uses Linux, therefore, he can deal with any consequences that come with using Linux.

If he wants to use WPF, he will have to use Windows. If he doesn't want to use Windows, then he can just wait until next weeks challenge. No need to bitch and moan in this thread about the unavailability of WPF on Linux.

I've dabbled with WPF for a couple applications but mostly they still look like Win-Forms app just a bit more rounded.

For work we're building a WPF client for a web app to expose a the local filesystem to our application, but this isn't something I can really share here.

So you are saying that posters have 3 options:
  • Cheer on
  • Shut up
  • Express dissent and deserve rude comments from the web master

Somehow this doesn't seem right.

Hmm.. I wonder if I'd be insanely out of my league if I attempted to tinker around with this one. Sounds fun though.. perhaps my n00b ass will give it a go.. lol

If next week's challenge is cross-platform and has nothing to do with web-development, Christmas shall have come early, sir Dogstopper.

I've never programmed in C#, let alone messed with WPF before, but I've always wanted to try it out. So, I made this very basic Tic Tac Toe game for this challenge. I just zipped the source code and uploaded it if you want to check it out: http://dev.andresays...s/TicTacToe.zip

Had a blast with this challenge and I'll definitely be reading more about WPF in the future.

Of course you should! The purpose of 52WOC is to learn (well.. dabble in) as many new languages and technologies as possible.
