Author Badge?

Posted 20 March 2010 - 03:22 PM

Do I qualify for an author badge? I've had two tutorials and a snippet approved.
From the description of the badge:
"Usually any member who has submitted more than one Admin accepted tutorial will get this badge."

It's three tutorials, if I recall correctly.

Yup from the OP of this thread

KYA also inspired us to promote anyone that has submitted 3 or more tutorials to Author.

Awww, now I'm all disappointed. ;) Really though, thanks for clearing that up. Can the description of the badge be changed to reflect this rule? Might result in fewer questions.

Also, is there a way for me to edit a tutorial I've written? I've noticed that in one of mine I accidentally capitalized a b.

Edit: spelling

Depends, if the time limit has passed you can't, but you can PM a team member to take care of it for you. Otherwise you could.

Interestingly, after any amount of accepted tutorials or snippets one should get the contributors badge. This has not happened. Maybe something is going on with your account?

@#2 - Maybe, because according to your statement and comptechexperts, I should have two badges, right? Or did you mean the author badge?

skyhawk said the automated contributors thing is not working so mods/admin's have to do it by hand but that the automated author thing is working it MAY be the other way round?

From what I know you should have had the contributor badge after the first tut and then it should have been REPLACED with the author one by now.?

Well you should have already had the contributor badge after your first tut but know you have done two so you should have your author badge instead of your contributor so you will only have the ONE author badge.

You can PM skyhawk but he will not get back to you for weeks, I will try and speak to him today or ASAP and let you know what is going on, Okay?..

Ok, sounds good to me. I'll sit tight and work on coming up with more tutorials so I can get that coveted DIC++ membership. :)

Why don't you Just buy the DIC++ membership because it is not that expensive and it helps keep this community running as it costs about a thousand dollars per month to run this community?..

How shall I contact you when I have spoken to skyhawk?

I would love to buy the DIC++ membership, but unfortunately I'm a little hard hit by the economy at the moment. I've thought about it though, and I still think about it. I probably will if I find a second job and my wife and I start getting our finances in order.

Edit: You can contact me however you wish. A PM would work fine I think? :)
