(Flash MX)
Hello.
I'm in trouble flashing. I'ts going on a week so far and I still haven't been able to figure how to make a button, when pressed, fades swf (webpage) to blak, opens new URL. I'm not well versed in actionscript so this is more than a normal headache. If there's someone(s) out there that can help, it would be appreciated.
thanx,

Please post in the appropriate forum, the title says Introduce Yourself not ask a question, not to be rude, but it seems like no one can, or will read anymore.

Apology to both gentlemen. I stumble sometimes but I can read. "introduce yourself" yes, I was expecting to find a section that wasn't included or attached with the forums. Could not find such an area. Now I know. Sorry.

From what I can see you are asking how to make it so when someone clicks a button t will fade everthing black and then open up to a new area of a SWF webpage? Such as If there are a list of buttons that take the user to different parts of the SWF webpage, you want it to fade to black from changng to a different screen?

the easiest way that I can think of to do this is to stop the play head on a frame with a black rectangle whose alpha is set to zero. put a button on the frame that onRelease goto and play the next frame. go about 15 frames over and add a keyframe. Then insert motiontween on the frames with the black rectangle. on the last keyframe change the rectangle's alpha to 100.

Yes, I agree. That would be the easiest thing to do.
Have a black box on the highest depth and have it fade from alpha=0 to alpha=100...
