Imagelist & Icons

Post icon  Posted 31 May 2006 - 07:52 AM

Hi,

I have a folder filled with icons (48x48). Windows recognises them as being icons and even displays them. When I try to add them to my imagelist it says "Invalid Image". They are all ".ico" files.

Why is this happening?

I see if I convert them to .bmp they display. But why not display when they are .ico files?

Although an icon file contains images, it is not an image file.

Here is an explaination of the differences.

Note that XP icons is in true color formats, and vb 6 accepts icons containing at least a 256 bits format, to be able to use these icons please save these icons in that format to be able to use then in vb6.

I have been using Axialis IconWorkshop (can download a trial copy to try), there you can modify the icons and add other formats to the same file, then you will be able to import it in your imagelist.
