Splash Page...Vb.Net 2003

Posted 03 June 2006 - 11:15 AM

Okay, I've got a question on a different sort of note. For my project I've created a splash page that is supposed to appear before the main form when the program is run and then disappear after five seconds, but I cant figure out how to get it appear first. Any help would be appreciated.

In your main forms load event, you create a new instance of your form. Lets say your splash screen form is called Form1.

Private Sub YourMainForm_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load

	 Dim splashForm As New Form1

	 splashForm.ShowDialog()

End Sub

	  Splashform.ShowDialog()

Did you put it in your main form load event?

Post your code and I can better help you. Or better yet, zip your project up and upload to the forum so I can look at the whole thing.

Okay. Thanks a lot. If you look at my reply in the other thread you'll be able to better understand what I'm trying to do.

Okay here is the problem. This code needs to be inside your SelectedIndexChanged procedure.

Like this:

 Private Sub cboProducts_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles cboProducts.SelectedIndexChanged
		itemPrice = priceArray(Me.cboProducts.SelectedIndex)

		itemTotal = itemPrice * Convert.ToDouble(Me.txtNumberItems.Text)

		Me.Sale.Items.Add(itemTotal)

   End Sub

The reason your splash screen isn't working is because you have not told your project which form to load first. Select Properties from your Project menu, set the Startup Object to "frmCherylCenter". Select ok and then build your project.
