iPhone UIWebView

Posted 06 April 2010 - 07:04 PM

I don't know where to put webViewDidFinishLoad. I know it should look like -(void)webViewDidFinishLoad:(UIWebView *)webView { } but I need help getting all the pieces in the right places.

Thanks in advance for all who reply!

Hey jim2854 is there a reason you downvoted me for moving this to the right forum?

It told me that I was putting it in iPhone, which I thought was a sub-category of Mobile Development. And, this is a only a question which someone who knows iPhone development would be able to answer.

We don't have an iPhone forum so I'm not sure where it told you were were posting in it? Thus the reason for moving it to the forum we do have for mobile development, Mobile Development

You will need to put the method

-(void)webViewDidFinishLoad:(UIWebView *)webView { }

inside your view controller class that handles the xib file that contains your webview.

So, lets say your webview xib file is called WebPage.xib and is handled by you view controller WebPageViewController.

In your WebPageViewController header file (WebPageViewController.h) you will need to set <UIWebViewDelegate> after the interface declaration

@interface WebPageViewController: UIView <UIWebViewDelegate>

The above line will tell your view controller to override the UIWebviewCallback function (e.g. webViewDidFinishLoad)

Ensure that in the header file you declare a UIWebView and set it as an IBOutlet for your interface builder (IB), then set the WebView delegate to FileOwner in the IB.

And that should be it for you.

If you still having problems let me know and I'll explain in more detail
