For those of you that are unhappy at your current job and want a new one, a good question to ask in an interview is "What are five things do you most enjoy about your job?" I figure that if they can't come up with at least five things then chances are they don't like their job. You could also ask "What are some things you would change about your job if you could?" to get an idea of what their frustrations are, but that's going to be ignored for this exercise.

Fellow DIC-heads, here are the questions I pose you:

1) What is your current job (title/description)?
2) Do you enjoy your job?
3) What five things do you most enjoy about your job? (think of this one as the one giving the interview to a potential new employee)
4) What five things do you most enjoy about your job? (think of this one as being out at the bar with friends interested in working at your company)


Hopefully this will help with detecting the BS prevalent in the business world and help the fellow members avoid taking a job that they'd be unhappy in.

2. It comes and goes... going more so than coming.

a positive up beat environment,
competent coworkers,

4. Constant source of people to make fun of,
a sense of accomplishment against vast odds,
a solid company as long as you are on in IT,
a reason to drink,
a place to go and sober up for at least eight hours a day.

i. Being part of one of the best CS programs in America.
ii. Living in a very large community that shares the same interests as me.
iii. Being pushed to accomplish goals I thought were beyond me.
iv. Awesome career placement program.
v. Not really formal, but we have the most powerful supercomputer Blue Waters, which will come online in 2011.

4:
i. Hot nerd chicks.
ii. Semi-decent basketball team
iii. I like orange colour.
iv. Not everyone is party-crazy, some dorms are very quite.
v. Huge library, with millions of books, where you can just come with a laptop and chill the whole day.

1) Laid-back environment.
2) I get to learn how a nation-wide company operates.
