First of all, I'm not exactly sure where this thread belongs, so the mods can feel free to move it if it is in the wrong place. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone can link me to some general bot programming tutorials and information. It doesn't have to be an internet source either. If you know of a book or something, feel free to list it. I'm not looking for any specific bots. I've just always been interested in learning how bots work and learning how to code them to do simple tasks.
Thanks

This would probably be better asked in the language forum you plan on writing the code in. Are you wanting like Lego bots or chat/game AI? You can probably do a Google search for AI programming, or Lego Mindstorms, I think thats what they're called.
Most AI applications and actual robotic figure are usually written in Assembly, C, and C++.

If this is going to be used to create things like aimbots, I'd suggest you save your time and don't bother.
1. Plenty of people have made them better than you probably could any time soon.
2. It's bound to get you banned from said game.

No, this isn't for an aim bot. I'm just interested in simple chat bots and the like.

Ah, cool. For IRC bots, look in the Challenge Submissions in the 52 Weeks of Code forum and one guy has a few resources listed for a challenge based on making an IRC bot.
I don't know about AIM, MSN, etc bots or about things like iGod.
