Creating a Splash Screen

Posted 13 April 2010 - 07:11 AM

greetings everyone...

i need help in creating a splash screen that looks like this:

Posted Image

my main problem is, how to vary the colors from 0 To 255..

this is what i have done so far:

Posted Image

this is what i wrote in the paint event handler:

   Dim graCurrent As Graphics = e.Graphics

        Dim pintYCurrent As Integer

        Dim penBlue As Pen
        Dim penGreen As Pen

        For pintYCurrent = 0 To 350

            penGreen = New Pen(Color.FromArgb(0, 255, 0))
            penBlue = New Pen(Color.FromArgb(0, 0, 255), 2)
            graCurrent.DrawLine(penGreen, 0, pintYCurrent, Me.Width, 0)
            graCurrent.DrawLine(penBlue, Me.Width, pintYCurrent, 0, Me.Height)

        Next

    End Sub

i hope someone can guide me in writing the correct code..

Thanks in advance..

Why not just use the image as the background for the form? Would be a lot easier wouldn't tit?

thanks for your suggestion sir.. but unfortunately, i'm not yet familiar in using an image as background because

i'm just a newbie in programming..

And besides, this is for my graded project so i really need to create the right code for this..

Well you're not going to recreate that look without some seriously advanced coding, and if you're a new programmer your teacher will know that the code was given to you because it's far beyond your level of programming (Not trying to be rude at all so please know that)
