British Election - OMRLP

Posted 18 April 2010 - 01:09 PM

Hello all,

I don't know how many of the members in this forum are British, it seems that it is a primarily American based forum, so as you may or may not be aware the British General Election is coming up soon to choose a new Government and Prime Minister.

Just a few days ago I was having a look at the parties manifestos to see everyones policy and I came across the OMRLP party. I personally never knew this party existed but my dad tells me they've been around for a few decades.

So the reason for this thread is firstly, can anyone British tell me if this party is actually serious considering you CAN vote for them?

Secondly it's just for fun - some of their policies really are stupidly funny.

My favourite is number 81, could do with a lie in.

Spoiler

This is a real party I think although this is the first time I've heard of them but from a quick search, it revealed that they are a real and registered party although they would have no chance of winning anyway >_>

I'm a UK member of the forum btw :)

This must be one of the parties that are covered in the "others" category when we vote.

Usually these parties get only 2% of the UK vote and though real, will probably never get into power.

But yes, they are a serious party.

Yup, the Monster Raving Loony's do indeed exist, although they are but a shadow of their former glory.

@ sbell1099 : Labour??? You would really give power back into the hands of Brown?
