3D game with using red-blue glass

Posted 20 April 2010 - 07:12 AM

Hi,
I'm was doing a final project for college. I planned to make a 3D game which needed to use a red-blue glasses to play.

i have Visual Studio C++ and DirectX knowledge. i wanna to know how to convert it to 3D(with red and blue color).

isn't need to render 3 models which as 1 for red, 1 for blue and other 1 normal?

or can i create 3 camera and display all in 1 monitor?

or it have other software which can convert it?

Thank you very much ^_^

Well, in all honesty, I don't really know how to do this. There was one graphics engine that I can't recall the name of (TrueVision 3D or something?) that would render that for you.

The another way to do this would be to learn how to use the Virtual Boy libraries and make a game for the Virtual Boy that ends up being run in an emulator.

I'm sure that it's some sort of post-processing effect that might not even be supported by DirectX at this time. Hell, it may not be supported by OpenGL.

All I know is that rendering 3 models for everything isn't going to work. It hogs up 3 times the CPU, a hefty amount more in RAM, and in general is just a bad idea.

Maybe someone else can fill you in a bit more.
