I just found this site, programmermeetdesigner.com. Seems right up my alley since I can't design for the life of me. Wondering if anyone has any experiences with this site to share. Also, just wanted to share the website in case any one was in the same situation that I'm in. I responded to a couple of designers looking for programmers and will share my experience if and when I get any work from the site.

Care to elaborate on how you can't design but develop? I can do both and work for hire..ha.

I don't know, I just have no sense of design. Sometimes after lots of work I can make a decent looking website but even at that, the road to a good design is a very frustrating one for me.

Some people are graphically challenged. Hence the reason they usually have a designer and a developer at larger companies.
Either way the site looks like a neat concept... Not too sure about it though, I would have to dig a little deeper before jumping right in.

I don't see how you don't understand the term (to counter how you can't understand why he can't design). More than likely he means web design aka UI. It's a lot like saying just because someone can play the keyboard, why can't they play the guitar, it's an apple and oranges comparison. Sure, technically everyone can design, but not everyone wants a site that looks like craigslist or something even worse. Just because anyone can draw, doesn't mean they're an artist.

What are you jabbering about? My contention is the word "designer" has multiple functions in my world.... software designing is different that graphic design... both are different from development.

I'm fully aware of that. I just found your original response a bit arrogant of you to be mocking him just simply because you can do something. Perhaps I misunderstood your "tone of voice" and interpreted that way. Just because you can do it doesn't mean you should mock others. Even if he couldn't do software designing, so what? Different programmers have different strength and weaknesses in their programming capabilities. Should an excellent programmer say to you he can build complex algorithms and you can't. He can do both and work for hire, ha?
