World Cup

Posted 26 May 2010 - 09:13 AM

So the World Cup 2010 South Africa is kicking off shortly for all you football/soccer addicts.

Any Predictions?

Cristiano Ronaldo getting Portugal in the world cup final against England?

Rooney scoring the deciding goal against Portugal and England winning it..

I got Italy upsetting Khazakistan late in the tourney. But USA will most likely kick all your asses like they do at everything else.

This doesn't matter here, you need to defend your team everywhere! :D

I've never enjoyed South African soccer. The general standard of game play here is terrible when compared with the premier league and the like. So I think I'll be supporting either Italy or Spain in the world cup. :) I don't know much about the US soccer team but it seems to me that considering its not a main sport (as far as I know) their team will be mediocre. But the Americans tend to come from nowhere and own when its least expected so it could get interesting. :D

The Brazilians are normally good. :) I think things will only really start getting interesting towards the semi-finals. I'll just use every game as an excuse to get drunk until then.

Capty99, when you put it like that the Americans just got better.

Unfortunately im obligated to root for the american team, i think our soccer has really improved over the last 10 years or so but were still not on par with the rest of the soccer playing world. Im gonna say england is gonna take it and brazil isnt going to do as well as expected, too many stars on 1 team the chemistry is bad.

I think the first England game is this Saturday - I'm at work, going to my friend's 21st. The guys I work with have to serve me all night and miss the game.

I don't care much for football (soccer), I'm a rugby bloke :-D
