HTML Code for Transparent Font

Posted 03 June 2010 - 04:59 PM

Hi, pretty basic, but can't find it.

What's the HTML code to make a font clear/transparent?

Thanks!

Sandra

To my knowledge there is no such thing. You could make a spacer span or some other element and use that, but I don't think font can be transparent in the web... If you have seen somewhere that does it link to it and I'll see if I can figure out the methods behind it.

The only was I could think of it is if you had the font colour the same as the background.

Why would you want transparent font?

You could use the CSS 3 property opacity.

p.exampleFontOpacity [
  filter:alpha(opacity=30); /* msie */
  -moz-opacity: 0.30; /* firefox */
  -khtml-opacity: 0.30; /* webkit *
  opacity: 0.30; /* css 3 */
}
