I've tried to create a player using the Windows media player Ax control, however I do not like this. I'd like to be able to make a media player (.wav, .mp3, .mid) as well as other video and audio formats. If this is not possible, that is alright, because I am willing to try other languages as well.

How do I make a search engine?
How do I make a CRM system for an intranet?
See, questions like that can't be answered simply in a thread.

I'm asking for some ideas for which direction to go in. I don't expect code, but I'm sure people will help. If code from this site helps me, whoever gave the code will have their name in the about box.

@Vishu Sukhdev: Call me stupid, but didn't Fullmetal99012 stated in his first post that he didn't want to use the Windows Media Player objects....
this MP3 player source is maybe something you could use, otherwise maybe the irrKlang Library suggested on our own forum does the trick for you. This tutorial uses Windows Media Player, but without the user interface of WMP. And last but not least this could be helpful.
Google is your best friend.
Hope this helps,
Rico
