Credit System

Posted 14 June 2010 - 05:26 AM

Hi All,

I wasn't quite sure where to ask this question (feel free to move it to a better place if need be) but here goes:

I was looking into implementing a credit system on a website where the users can buy credits for themselves to get extra options / enhancements to the website...

Does this require a license to allow this sort of transaction to take place? Or can I just get away with using a service such as PayPal to handle the transactions?

There wouldn't be any reverse transactions such as credits back into cash...

Any pointers are appreciated :)

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

Well, I just did a little project where a user buys into the site and that gets him/her three of the items, after which they pay a set rate per item. I think that's fairly common thing so I never considered they might need a license. Then again, if they do it's not up to me to get it for them.

OK cheers, so you think because it's a common thing people do, then it's ok as long as the transactions are safe and secure?
