i feel sorry for the people who are suffering needlessly because of the actions of a few ****head Taliban fanatics. it's just sad. children are already starving there. this is the last thing Afghanistan needs.

This is an email I got from a friend on a mailing list. My reply is below it.   It kinda goes with Jared's reply.

middle east for oil so that you don't get pissed off when the oil
prices go up and you have to sit in you SUV with your AC on high and
go "gyyooood dam,Ū.00 a gallon, thats outragious". Mean while some
dirt poor middle eastern sits in the desert heat, half starved and
desprate with no AC, no TV, no playstation, no cel phone, and better
yet, no hope for a better life.
If you think about it we make ourselves targets. WE are the richest,
most comfterble county in the world. We have
convenient.....everything.And when everything get's so convenient and
comfterble we forget about that need to survive. We forget that other
people in the world have no food, water, or a decent Gov. and they
are angry at our easy lifstyles. If I were dirt poor, without a penny
to pinch or a pot to piss in and I saw our TV, with our comercials,
Convenient this, just use it and throw it away, with the new 250 HP
engine and room for 9, I would be angry as #### and I would follow
the first person that said they could get me that life.
Thats all that the Talaban has done, and people are following. They
said" hey, let's take over the world so we can live comfterbly, I
mean if America can do so can we"
So think about it, are you going to go along with everybody else or
are you going to stand up for your rights. yeah some terible shit
happened, but is killing more people really going to help. Does
killing ever really help any situation? Is this going to escalate?  
Is Bush a crack head? or a complete tool? or bolth?

My Reply:
So we should do nothing about people flying planes in to our buildings? They are mad at the USA because we are trying to keep peace in the middle east by supporting Israel and having troops posted in Saudi Arabia. We're just so evil.  
Oh yeah, and it wasn't the "Suidi war of 91", it's was Desert Shield and Desert Storm and we didn't fight "Suidi" we fought Iraq who illegally invaded the small country of Kuwait (which the author probably couldn't spell either) to take over their oil supplies.  Also, I'm pretty sure that the "official" war took place in '92, it started like January 12, 1992 (I could be wrong, and I'm too lazy to check.)
I don't know about you guys, but I'm not going to sit here and let 2,000-3,000 Islamic extremist bully me and the rest of the world around.  Also, I'd like to mention that, this weekend, I'm not leaving my house because of them.  I live in a "target city." That means they want to crop dust me with anthrax or fly planes in to our buildings or bridges. Sounds pretty innocent to me.
I have a t-shirt that I wear proudly stating Make Love, Not War, but when you f--- with us, this is what happens:

I fell sorry for the Afgans that get caught in the crossfire, but that's what happens when you support a government that harbors the most wanted man in the world.  I'm sure they all cried when 5,000 people died in New York, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania.

i am not against the airstrikes, i am in favor of them... i just hope 2 things:

1) our bombers DON'T MISS and hit a friggin school.
2) the refugees in the camps far far away get food.

did you hear Bush's press conference tonight? he announced the Childrens' Refief Fund to raise money to send food and blankets to the children of Afghanistan. he asked children all across America to donate ũ to the fund. pretty cool. i was actually impressed with ol' Dubya.

NEORACLE, cmon!!! most of those people dont harbor the government or support it. there is a huge majority against it yet the government is the one with t money and the weapons. and if you really want 2 know a bunch of them did cry when we got hit. there is a small number or ruling leaders, and terrorists who express bad feelings and you think the whole nation is that way. i know you are smarter than that.

capty's right, d00d. i didn't catch that comment. the majority of the Afghans may very well hate the Taliban. don't you know they've been having a civil war? there are enough Afghans who oppose the Taliban that there is an armed resistance to them.

the Taliban harbored Bin Laden, not the Afghan people. that's why i said what i did, that i hope as few civilians find themselves in harm's way.
